Case study
Daytime coverage of the Karma California display at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during Monterey Car Week 2025.
The Quail is the densest day on the Monterey calendar: one lawn, a few thousand guests, and a window between the gates opening and the display filling that lasts minutes rather than hours. Karma Automotive brought its California lineup, from the Kaveya hypercar to the production cars, onto a white display stage under open sky.
Clean product frames and live crowd energy pull against each other. Flat overcast one minute and hard sun the next, mirrored paint that picks up every tent and tree behind the camera, and a display that had to be photographed properly without ever asking a guest to move.
Arrived ahead of the gates to shoot the display clean: covers on, covers off, each car isolated against the brand wall before the lawn filled.
Worked the day in passes: product elevations early, then guest interaction, interiors and material detail as the crowd built around the cars.
Graded to hold Karma’s paint. The Kaveya’s satin gray, the deep red and the pearl white stay consistent across shifting overcast and direct sun.
Handed over as a self-contained set the brand and its partners could pull from for recap, press and social.
Every car shot isolated on the display before the gates opened, then live with guests.
Documented from pre-show wrap through to the open display.
Complete coverage of Karma’s presence on the busiest day of Monterey Car Week.
