Case study
A one-night reveal at a private golf-course venue outside Monterey during Car Week 2025. Photographed end to end for Acura.
Acura chose Monterey Car Week 2025 to give the RSX Prototype its global debut, staging the reveal at a private golf-course venue outside the peninsula. The car sat under cover in front of an invited audience of press, partners and collectors until the moment it didn’t. That moment was the entire assignment.
Everything after it was lit for the audience, not the camera. Daylight dropped through the program, the stage ran on LED walls and hard spots, and the car itself is high-chroma yellow against black staging, exactly the subject that falls apart when exposure drifts. There was no second reveal to fall back on.
Walked the site in daylight with the production team, marked the reveal angles, and set exposure references for stage, screen and paint before a single guest arrived.
Shot the full arc: cover-on anticipation, the program, the reveal itself, then dinner service, the bar and the DJ set as the venue turned over to night.
Graded for the yellow first, holding the paint against LED spill, then matched the warm canopy lighting so daylight, dusk and full-dark frames read as one set.
Cut for the client’s press and social use alongside the full gallery as the record of the activation.
The RSX Prototype’s first public appearance, from the covered car to the open floor.
Exposure and grade matched across daylight, stage lighting and full night.
Arrival and program, the reveal, dinner service, and the after-hours set.
